36-Year-Old Woman Learns of Pregnancy Just Hours Before Giving Birth

A 36-year-old woman from Zhejiang province in eastern China, who had been struggling to conceive for years, was astonished to learn she was already eight months pregnant.

As reported by South China Morning Post, the woman, Gong, and her husband had tried multiple methods, including even pursued IVF treatment, but doctors recommended that Gong focus on weight loss first.

Disheartened by her inability to conceive, Gong believed her dream of having a child was out of reach, until life took an unexpected turn.

In early December last year, Gong experienced numbness in one of her hands and visited a small clinic to check her blood pressure, which was alarmingly high.

During the consultation, the doctor learned that Gong had also missed her periods for several months and advised her to undergo an ultrasound. The results revealed a miraculous surprise that Gong was carrying an 8.5-month-old foetus weighing 2 kilograms.

Due to her high blood pressure, doctors performed surgery within four hours to safely deliver the baby, who is now healthy.
