    The Supreme Court has granted interim bail to NCP leader Nawab Malik on medical grounds until his regular bail plea is reviewed by the Bombay High Court. Malik, who has been suffering from chronic kidney issues, had previously received interim bail and was in custody since February 2022 in a case linked to Dawood Ibrahim and his associates.

    In a separate development, an American woman found chained in the forests of Maharashtra’s Sindhudurg district has led to the registration of an attempted murder case against her former husband. According to a note she wrote after being hospitalized, her husband allegedly chained her in the forest at Sonurli village before fleeing. Police are currently searching for him and other relatives in Tamil Nadu and Goa.

    Additionally, as part of the ongoing monsoon session, the Maharashtra government has announced a Rs 270 crore expenditure on a special publicity campaign to promote its welfare schemes, such as CM Majhi Ladki Bahin and CM Teerth Darshan, ahead of the upcoming Assembly elections. Meanwhile, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecasted light to moderate rain in Mumbai today.
