    Mosquito coil transforms room into gas chamber, 6 residents of Shastri Nagar killed

    On Friday morning, six members of the same family were discovered deceased in their home in Delhi’s Shastri Park neighbourhood. According to police, the deceased perished as a result of suffocation.

    It was discovered that a burning mosquito net had landed on top of a mattress sometime during the night. The occupants of the house lost consciousness as a result of the toxic fumes emitted by the burning and perished of suffocation.

    According to the police, there were nine individuals in the house at the time of the incident. Six people were pronounced dead, and two others were taken to the hospital with burn injuries.

    “Today at 09:00 AM a PCR call was received at Police Station Shastri Park that a house is on fire at Mazar Wala Road, Machi Market, Shastri Park. Police reached the spot and found that the injured had been taken to Jag Pravesh Chandra Hospital. “A total of nine people were involved in the incident,” police said in a statement.

    Of the six dead, four are adult men, one adult woman and a child. A 15-year-old girl and a 45-year-old man are undergoing treatment at the hospital. The bodies of the deceased will be handed over to their relatives after the post-mortem today.
