India Today consulted multiple experts and analyzed various studies to determine whether coffee is beneficial or harmful. While coffee often faces criticism, experts suggest it’s not as bad as it’s perceived to be. In fact, moderate consumption can be part of a healthy diet for most individuals. A study of over 40,000 adults revealed that morning drinkers had a 16% lower risk of overall mortality and a 31% reduced risk of cardiovascular disease over nearly ten years compared to those who didn’t drink.

Side effects of coffee
Although this drink can provide an energy boost, excessive consumption may lead to side effects. Mansi warns that consuming more than 400-600 mg of caffeine daily can hinder iron absorption, potentially resulting in weaker bones, premature aging, anxiety, and insomnia. Dr. Bharti adds that excessive intake can disrupt sleep, trigger heart palpitations, and worsen acid reflux.
