    India logged 6,822 new Covid-19 infections, the lowest in 558 days, taking the country’s total tally of Covid cases to 3,46,48,383, the Union Health Ministry informed on Tuesday.

    Kalyan Dombivali Municipal Corporation chief Vijay Suryavanshi on Monday informed that out of 295 recent foreign returnees in Thane district, 100 were untraceable.

    He said the mobile phones of some of these people were switched off while many of the last given addresses were found to be locked, news agency PTI reported. Keeping in view the rise in Omicron cases in India, this is a worrying situation for the state government as well as the state. Two more cases of the new Omicron variant were to reported from Maharashtra on December 6, taking India’s total tally to 23. Both of these individuals were fully vaccinated and had returned from abroad last month.

    Covid-19 Vaccine Registration, Coronavirus Omicron Variant Cases in India 

    India reported 6,822 new cases of Coronavirus and 220 deaths in last 24 hours. The country’s active caseload currently stands at 95,014 which is the lowest in 554 days.

    According to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW). The active cases in the country account for less than 1 per cent of total cases, currently at 0. 27 per cent which is the lowest since March last year.
