The Hindu stone temple in Abu Dhabi, the first of its kind, which is inaugurate by Prime Minister Narendra Modi earlier this month, is set to open its doors to the public on March 1, as announce by the temple authorities. Constructed by the Bochasanwasi Shri Akshar Purushottam Swaminarayan Sanstha (BAPS) Swaminarayan Sanstha, the temple occupies a 27-acre site in Abu Mureikhah, near Al Rahba off the Dubai-Abu Dhabi Sheikh Zayed Highway, at an estimated cost of around Rs 700 crore.

Abu Dhabi’s Grand Temple: Opening to the Public
- Inauguration Ceremony: Prime Minister Modi inaugurated the grand temple on February 14 during a dedication ceremony attended by over 5,000 invitees.
- Limited Access Period: From February 15 to 29, overseas devotees who had registere in advance or VIP guests were grant access to the temple.
- Public Opening: The temple will open its doors to the public from March 1, operating from 9 AM to 8 PM. However, visitors should note that the temple will remain closed every Monday.

Abu Dhabi’s Grand Temple: Architectural Marvel
- Traditional Construction: Constructed with 18 lakh bricks and 1.8 lakh cubic meters of sandstone directly sourced from Rajasthan, the temple follows the Nagara style of architecture, reminiscent of the recently inaugurated Ram Temple in Ayodhya.
- Ancient Design Principles: According to temple authorities, the grand temple has been meticulously craft in adherence to ancient construction techniques outline in the Shilpa and Sthapathya Shastras, Hindu scriptures detailing the art of mandir design and construction.
