Delta Plane Crashes and Overturns at Toronto Airport, Passengers Escape from Wreckage

Delta Airlines confirmed that at the time of the accident, the aircraft was carrying a total of 76 passengers along with four crew members. The incident took place at Toronto Pearson International Airport in Canada on Monday, resulting in multiple injuries.

Local media reports say that emergency response teams, including paramedics and law enforcement, quickly dispatched to the scene to assess the situation and provide medical aid to those affected. Peel Regional Paramedic Services later reported that a total of 18 individuals sustained injuries due to the crash. Among the injured was a child, while three people were in critical condition and required immediate medical attention.

Authorities have since launched a full-scale investigation to determine the cause of the crash. Meanwhile, Delta Airlines has assured passengers and their families that they are working to provide support and assistance. Authorities advised travelers scheduled to fly to, from, or through Toronto Pearson International Airport to check for updates regarding potential flight disruptions.

CBC television reported that the Delta plane flipped on landing

In a post on X, the airport confirmed the incident, saying that it is aware of an incident involving a Delta Airlines plane arriving from Minneapolis.

“Emergency teams are responding. The post states that authorities have accounted for all passengers and crew.

Local police are on the scene investigating, while paramedics have set up a staging area off the runway. According to a CTV News report, the airport had shut down all arrivals and departures after the crash, but the flights have now resumed.

“Delta is working to connect with customers traveling from, to or through YYZ who should also monitor the status of their flight via the Fly Delta app,” the statement reads.

FAA has said that there was a ground stop at Toronto Pearson airport following the crash, Reuters reported. “There is a plane crash. However, we don’t know the circumstances surrounding it at this point,” Constable Sarah Patten of the Peel Regional Police in Ontario told Reuters.
