A Taliban security personnel keeps watch

On Monday, India condemned Pakistan’s airstrikes on Afghanistan, describing it as Islamabad’s “old practice” of “blaming its neighbors for its internal failures.”

“We have seen media reports about airstrikes on Afghan civilians, including women and children, resulting in the loss of several precious lives. We strongly condemn any attack on innocent civilians.”

Taliban claims that Pakistan’s airstrikes killed 46 people

In December, the Taliban alleged that Pakistan’s airstrikes killed 46 people, including women and children.

Hamdullah Fitrat, the Afghan government’s deputy spokesperson, told AP that the airstrikes targeted four sites in Barmal, a district in Paktika province, and the victims were refugees. He also mentioned that the attacks injured six others.

Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan spokesperson Mohammad Khurasani claimed in a statement that airstrikes killed 50 people, including 27 women and children. He stated that the victims were “unarmed refugees” who had fled to Afghanistan due to Pakistan’s military actions in the northwest.

The TTP, a distinct group but a close ally of the Afghan Taliban, also released photos, claiming they depicted children killed during the Pakistani operation.
