Militants from the Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) intercepted the Jaffar Express, which was carrying approximately 400 passengers, as it traveled toward Peshawar. The attackers forced the train to stop inside a tunnel located near the rugged and remote hills of Gudalar and Piru Kunri. The region’s difficult terrain and limited accessibility made the situation even more precarious, as the militants took advantage of the tunnel’s isolation to carry out their operation. The sudden hijacking left passengers trapped in a vulnerable position, prompting immediate response efforts from security forces to contain the threat and ensure the safety of those on board.
