According to Vyacheslav Gladkov, governor of the Belgorod region in southern Russia, two people lost their lives, while their daughter sustained injuries.
“We all saw with you on a video on the Internet a damaged car with Belgorod numbers. What information is available at the moment: a girl was injured,” Gladkov said on the Telegram messaging app. “The hardest thing is that her parents died, dad and mum.”
Traffic along a Russian-built bridge linking Crimea to Russia’s Krasnodar region has been halted, as reported by a Moscow-installed official and state media on Monday. According to Crimea governor Sergey Aksyonov, who wrote on Telegram, “Traffic was stopped on the Crimean bridge: an emergency occurred in the area of the 145th pillar from the Krasnodar Territory.”
“Law enforcement agencies and all relevant services are working… measures are being taken to handle the situation,” he added. He did not provide any other details.
The RBC-Ukraine news agency reported that explosions were heard on the bridge, Reuters said.
