The United Arab Emirates (UAE) on Sunday extended the suspension period of passenger flights coming from India till June 30 in view of the COVID-19 pandemic.
On the other hand, Bangladesh has closed the borders with India for 14 more days.
However, freight movement from the border will continue. The UAE suspended all passenger flights from India to India on April 25 in view of increasing cases of coronavirus infections.
Emirates Airlines said in a notice issued on its website that the decision will now be effective until June 30. No passengers traveling through India will be admitte to the UAE.
However, this exempts the UAE’s Golden Visa holders and diplomats.
Bangladesh closed the borders with India
Bangladesh first sealed the borders on April 26 in view of the worsening situation of the coronavirus pandemic in India.
On May 8, Bangladesh extended the travel ban for 14 more days after six cases of the B1.617. 2 variant of the coronavirus occurred. On Sunday, this ban was further to extended for 14 days.
Saudi Arabia lifts travel ban for 11 countries
Saudi Arabia announced the entry of passengers from eleven countries. Which were put in place on May 30 to stop the spread of Covid-19.
Passengers from the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Germany, the United States, Ireland, Italy, Portugal, the United Kingdom, Sweden, Switzerland, France and Japan will now be allowed entry.
If necessary, passengers arriving from these countries will be to subjected to institutional quarantine procedures.
It is mandatory for all non-vaccinated travelers to follow institutional quarantine procedures for a period of 7 days. And obtain a valid health insurance policy to cover the risks of COVID-19.
