Pakistan’s Retaliatory Air Strikes in Response to Iranian Attacks
On Thursday, Pakistan conducted air strikes against militant targets in Iran, responding to similar strikes by Iran on its territory two days earlier. Tehran summoned Islamabad’s envoy in reaction to the Pakistani strikes. The strikes in the volatile Sistan-Baluchistan province resulted in the death of at least nine individuals, with the majority being women or children, as reported by Iran’s official news agency, IRNA.

Escalation of Cross-Border Tensions: Pakistan’s Response to Iranian Raids
Following Iran’s Tuesday raids on what it labeled as “terrorist” targets in Pakistan, resulting in the death of at least two children, Pakistan launched its own air strikes. Although Iran and nuclear-armed Pakistan frequently accuse each other of harboring militants, cross-border military operations by government forces have been infrequent.
