A youngster from Chennai has claimed to have designed a robot that doesn’t answer queries if scolded. ‘Raffi’ is the creation of 13-year-old Prateek. Unlike other basic robots, it exhibits a trait that can loosely be called an emotion. The young inventor said the device answers all queries posed to it. But will not respond if scolded.
That’s not all. If it stops answering queries, it can only be restored if the user apologises to it. The teenager further claimed that Raffi is designed to detect other emotions and can send out signals when a user is sad.
“Raffi, my robot, can answer queries. If you scold him, he won’t answer your queries until you are sorry. It can even understand you if you are sad,” Prateek told ANI.
Netizens have heaped praises on the Tamil Nad boy for creating a robot at age 13. “Incredible achievement of the boy deserves all appreciation,” a user wrote.
“I feel, it has been fed with data of faces and voices, like this is angry face this is happy face and also with voice, so some training might have done on that. Vision training or something like that. Whatever, doing this at 13 is still a big task,” wrote another.
“Billions of rows of texts couldn’t create emotions in a google AI but 13 yo somehow managed to train a model with emotions,” said a third user.
