Three terrorists were killed in an encounter with security forces in the Sidhra area of Jammu district early Wednesday morning, according to police. The terrorists were reportedly traveling in a truck to Kashmir, and security forces surrounded the outskirts of Jammu city in the morning after receiving information about the presence of a group of terrorists there. According to police, the terrorists were nabbed near Tawi Bridge while traveling in a truck to Kashmir. They added that reinforcements were rushed to the area and the terrorists were neutralized.

Mukesh Singh, Additional Director General of Police, Jammu Zone, said the encounter with the terrorists took place around 7.30 a.m. in the Sidhra bypass area along the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway.

“The encounter is over. Two to three terrorists were present. There may be more. They were well-armed. “They have been neutralised,” ADGP Singh stated.

“The identities of the slain terrorists are being established. “The slain terrorists’ weapons and ammunition have been recovered,” police said. They added, when the hiding terrorists were confronted, they opened fire on the surrounding security forces, resulting in an encounter that has now concluded.

The ADGP explained the operation, saying that because it is Republic Day, the Border Security Forces are on high alert, and they noticed an unusual movement of a truck this morning.

“We followed a truck after noticing an unusual movement. The truck was stopped in Jammu at Sidhra, and the driver managed to flee. Terrorists were hiding inside the truck when it was searched, and they opened fire on the personnel. The retaliatory firing was carried out. “The truck is still burning,” ADGP added.
