    Earlier on Sunday, two unmanned drone attack targetted an IAF station in Jammu, indicating the possible use of a cocktail of chemicals including RDX in the first of its kind incident in the country.

    Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday held a meeting with Home Minister Amit Shah, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and National Security Advisor Ajit Doval in the wake of the drone attack. The Air Force Base in Jammu to address the emerging security threats and future challenges facing the country.

    Emphasis was laid on formulation of broad based policy. This information was given by people related to this matter.

    Prime Minister Narendra Modi will chair a high-level meeting today evening to review the security situation in Jammu.

    The meeting will be attended by Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and Union Home Minister Amit Shah. 

    The PM is likely to discuss incidents of drones being spotted near Jammu’s (IAF) station and Brigade headquarters.

    The meeting will take place at his official residence 7, Lok Kalyan Marg at 4 PM.

    Ahead of the PM’s meeting, top officials from the Indian Air Force along with other defense officials will be giving a detailed presentation to Rajnath Singh on the Jammu Air Force Station attack.

    Various ministries and departments are working on this policy, after the drone attack

    Regarding this important meeting, which took place two days after the drone attack. A person who attended the meeting said that the government is soon coming out with a policy to collectively deal with emerging challenges.

    The Ministry of Defense and the three Services, in coordination with all key stakeholders and security agencies, will play a leading role in policy formulation as well as its implementation.

    In another related development, the government handed over probe into the drone attack on the Jammu IAF to the NIA.

    The decision to hand over probe into first-of-its-kind terror attack at IAF station was taken by Ministry of Home Affairs.

    Focus on anti-drone technologies

    The Indian Army is already working on incorporating artificial intelligence, cognitive science (brain studies) robotics, drones, quantum computing, nanotechnology, and cyber capabilities. As part of efforts to meet the challenges of the future. 

    Experts said that three services, as well as key national security planners, will have several meetings over next few weeks. He said the three services have already been asked to focus on anti-drone techniques to counter strikes by unmanned aircraft.
