Amit Shah’s comments on BR Ambedkar in the Rajya Sabha on Tuesday have sparked a huge controversy. The Congress-led Opposition has used the remarks to attack the BJP-led central government and call for the Home Minister’s resignation.

In a heightened attack on Amit Shah and the BJP-led government, MPs from the opposition alliance ‘INDIA’ climbed the Makar Dwar of Parliament on Thursday, holding placards calling for an apology and the resignation of the Home Minister.
BJP MP Pratap Sarangi Claims Injury from Rahul Gandhi’s Alleged Push
The trouble started when members of the INDIA bloc insisted on entering Parliament through the area occupied by protesting BJP MPs, instead of using the empty space on one side of the Makar Dwar staircase, which members typically use to enter and exit the building.
Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, and his MP sister, Priyanka Gandhi, were among the opposition leaders who protested at Makar Dwar.
While the Opposition protested in Parliament, BJP MP Pratap Chandra Sarangi claimed that Rahul Gandhi pushed a fellow parliamentarian, causing both to fall and injuring him.
Pratap Chandra Sarangi, wheeled out with a handkerchief on his forehead, seemingly covering a wound, said, “Rahul Gandhi pushed an MP, who fell on me, causing me to fall as well.” I was standing near the stairs when this happened.”
