    On Monday (May 27), a United Airlines Airbus A320 experienced an engine fire shortly after takeoff from O’Hare International Airport in Chicago. The flight, carrying 148 passengers and 5 crew members, was safely evacuated after the incident. Emergency protocols were swiftly enacted, and the plane was halted on the runway as passengers and crew were evacuated. As a result, all airport operations were suspended for 45 minutes.

    Airlines apologized to passengers

    According to American media house Fox News, the Airport Authority has also confirmed the accident. Officials said that United Airlines flight 2091 had taken off from Chicago for Washington at around 11:30 pm Indian time on Monday night, when the accident occurred.

    Now the entire issue is under investigation by the Aviation Immigration Authority. The airline expressed its apologies to the passengers and arranged a replacement flight for them. Four hours after the incident, the second flight took off.

    Apart from this, on May 25, a Spirit Airlines flight had to make an emergency landing. Flight NK270 was going from Jamaica to Florida when there was some problem with its machinery. After this an alert was issued that the plane would be landed in water. However, the pilot, with his wisdom, landed the flight back at Jamaica Airport.
