He announce that an Indian Air Force plane stands ready to repatriate the bodies once they are identifie . He revealed that at least 48 people have lost their lives in the fire in Mangaf city, with 42 of them believed to be Indians.

    The fire, which originated in the kitchen of a six-storey building, occurred early yesterday. The building housed nearly 200 people, and authorities attribute most deaths to smoke inhalation during sleep.

    Dr S Jaishankar, the External Affairs Minister, has communicated with Kuwaiti counterpart Abdullah Ali Al-Yahya regarding the recent tragic incident. Assurances were provided that a thorough investigation would be conduct and accountability would be establish. Dr Jaishankar stressed the importance of promptly repatriating the deceased and ensuring appropriate medical care for the injured. In response to the situation, the Indian Embassy in Kuwait has launched a helpline (+965-65505246) for affected families to access assistance. An initial list of victims’ names is anticipate to be release later today.
