In the Manipur 2025 attack, on Tuesday night, militants reportedly dropped bombs via drones on Kangchup Phayeng village in Imphal West, a location they had targeted late last year. The attack, which occurred just 15 feet from a temporary police barrack and sentry post, resulted in no casualties. Police believe both bombs were dropped within three minutes around 9:30 pm. A similar bombing had occurred in the village on November 11, with no casualties reported then either.

Kangchup Resident Describes Close Call with Drone Bombing
Ajit, a resident of Kangchup, mentioned, “No drones had been seen in the area since November 11. However, in the past three days, drones were frequently observed flying. We didn’t panic, thinking they were just surveillance drones.” He added, “Last night, two bombs exploded just 15 feet from the security barrack and sentry post, shortly after hearing the sound of a drone. If the bombs had been dropped in populated areas, the casualties could have been much higher.”
