Nepal PM Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda has sought India’s help to save democracy in the Himalayan country

Former Nepal Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda has sought India’s help to save democracy in the Himalayan country.

Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda has appealed to India in this matter. While addressing a section of the Nepal Communist Party (NPC) in Kathmandu on Wednesday, Pushpa Kamal Dahal said that democracy has been killed in the country.

“Democracy in Nepal is in danger due to PM KP Sharma Oli and we are appealing to the country which describes itself as the world’s largest democracy to protect it,” he said.

Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda did not openly name India, but he has made a clear gesture by talking about the largest democracy. In fact, on December 20 last year, KP Sharma Oli had taken the decision to dissolve the Nepal Parliament.

“We appeal to the international community. Especially to the country which calls itself the world’s largest democracy and that believes in democratic values. Apart from this, we appeal to our neighbors to speak against the undemocratic decision of Oli,” Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda said.

Ever since the dissolution of Parliament by Oli, the faction of the Nepal Communist Party (NPC) led by Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda and Madhav Kumar Nepal has been opposing the move.

Two days after the dissolution of the House, the Communist Party was also divided and now to a dispute over which faction is to be given legitimacy is pending before the Election Commission.
