    At NHRC event, PM Modi slams ‘selective interpretation’ of human rights.

    ‘Some people’ see human rights violation in one incident, but not in other, similar cases, Prime Minister Modi said.

    Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday urged people not to be “selective” while raising issues of human rights.

    he delivered his speech at the 28th anniversary function of the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC).

    Addressing the ceremony virtually, he said that while “some people” see human rights violation in a particular incident, they ignore violation of such rights in other, similar cases.

    The Prime Minister, Mr. Narendra Modi today released a commemorative postal stamp and cover marking silver jubilee of the National Human Rights Commission, India at a function organized at Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi.

    He also launched the new version of the NHRC website.

    The government is committed to working for a just and equitable society ensuring people’s welfare and protection of their rights

    The Prime Minister said that human rights should not be merely a slogan, but also a part of our ethos.
