Assam Election 2021: The BJP is doing everything possible to retain power by winning the Assam Election

In the upcoming assembly elections, BJP is doing everything possible to win 12 seats in Barak Valley region of Assam. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is engaged in efforts to retain power by winning the Assam Election 2021.

In the 1991 elections, the BJP had won just ten seats in Assam. The special thing is that out of these ten seats, BJP won nine assembly seats in that region. The Barak Valley region consists of three districts – Cachar, Hailakandi and Karimganj.

Bengali Hindu voters dominate this area, due to this the BJP is giving a lot of emphasis to this area. The Barak Valley region is also important for the BJP. Because even when the BJP won just 10 seats in Assam, it got 9 seats from this region.

The Barak Valley region has a total of 15 assembly seats. The BJP won 8 seats in the 2016 assembly elections, out of which it won 6 seats in Cachar district. The BJP had won two seats in Karimganj district, which borders Bangladesh.

This time the BJP has set a target of winning more than 100 seats in the Assam Election 2021. Last year, at a meeting of the BJP’s state executive in Karimganj, it was decided that the BJP will focus heavily on the Barak Valley region.

We will implement CAA in Assam, says State BJP chief

Ahead of the Assam Assembly elections, state BJP chief Ranjeet Kumar Dass said that the party will soon implement CAA. Speaking to ANI, Dass said, “This has been passed (by the Parliament). There is no question of stepping back, this is an ideological commitment of BJP. CAA (Citizenship Amendment Act) is not going to cause any harm.

BJP-led NDA headed for 2nd term with thin majority.
