     In Hyderabad, a gay couple exchanged rings and tied the knot making their relationship official in front of close friends and family. The ceremony held at a resort located on the outskirts of Hyderabad on Sunday.

    The gay couple, Supriyo Chakraborty (31), who is originally from Kolkata, and a senior faculty member at a prominent hotel management institute, and Abhay Dang (34), an MNC employee, exchanged rings. The ceremony saw both Bengali and Punjabi wedding rituals.

    As per reports, the couple in an eight-year-long relationship and has now officially gotten hitched. The ceremony officiated by a former manager of Deloitte, a transvestite person, Sophia David, from Hyderabad.

    In an interaction with ToI, Chakraborty said that for the wedding they walked down the aisle and exchanged vows and rings. “Our celebrated amid wedding bells that distributed among all our guests. Following the event, best man speeches delivered,” he added.

    Chakraborty further said that they wanted to break the stereotype of women getting Mehendi.

    Supriyo is a senior faculty member at a prominent hotel management institute, while Abhay works at a multinational corporation in New Delhi.

    Representing the LGBTQIA community, the two were in an eight-year-long courtship before they became ‘husband and husband’. But, what’s even more interesting, is that wedding officiated by a trans woman named Sophia David. 

    Abhay, a Punjabi, is an IT professional who works for an e-commerce firm while Supriyo. A Bengali is a hospitality professional.

    The ceremony held with both, Bengali and Punjabi traditions. Beautiful photos from their wedding and other functions have gone viral on social media.
