    Maharashtra: Bus Driver With Bullet In Arm Drives 30 Km To Save 35 Passengers After Car Chase

    A minibus driver heroically prevented a looming disaster for approximately 35 passengers when they were pursued by a group of criminals near Shegaon on the Amravati-Nagpur highway in Maharashtra this past Sunday. Traveling from Shegaon to Nagpur, the passengers faced a car-borne gang attempting to chase their bus.

    Brave Minibus Driver Shields Passengers

    Khomdev Kawade, the minibus driver, displayed remarkable courage during the incident. Despite sustaining a gunshot wound to his arm, he managed to drive 30 km before maneuvering past the assailants. Once clear, he promptly transported the passengers to a nearby police station, according to The Times of India. Initially allowing the gang to overtake the bus, Kawade changed tactics when bullets were fired at their vehicle, with four rounds hitting the windscreen.

    Although most bullets narrowly missed the driver, one struck his hand. Despite the injury, he maintained composure and control of the vehicle. Bleeding from his arm, he successfully navigated past the criminals at Sawadi village, located 100 km from Nagpur, ultimately reaching the safety of the Teosa police station.

    Police Commend Heroic Driver

    A police officer praised the heroic driver for ensuring the safety of all passengers. Following the incident, Amravati police escorted the bus to the Nandgaonpeth police station, and the injured driver received immediate medical attention at a nearby primary health center.

    The gang responsible for the attack had stolen the vehicle, identified by its UP registration number. A corresponding FIR was filed by the police in response to the incident.
