    Mihir Shah, the prime suspect apprehended in Mumbai’s Worli hit-and-run case, along with two companions, allegedly consumed a combined total of 12 large whiskey pegs — roughly four pegs each — as indicated by the bar bill, according to excise officials. They noted that this level of alcohol intake could lead to intoxication lasting up to eight hours. The report mentioned that Mihir Shah and his friends departed from the bar at 1:30 am on Sunday, and the accident occurred around 5 am, just four hours after they left the establishment.

    On Wednesday, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) conducted the demolition of purported unauthorized construction and modifications at the Juhu-based bar frequented by Mihir Shah. The BMC targeted Vice-Global Tapas Bar in the Juhu suburb of Mumbai, removing 3,500 square feet of illegal construction during the operation.

    The state excise administration has suspended the license of the Juhu bar where Mihir was served alcohol, despite being under 25 years old. Additionally, the excise department uncovered other purported irregularities at the bar, identified as Don Giovanni Restaurant under Jobel Hospitalities Pvt Ltd.

    Mihir Shah allegedly presented an identity card indicating he was 27 years old at the pub. Official records, however, state Mihir Shah is 23 years old, below the minimum legal drinking age of 25. Citing unnamed sources, NDTV also reported that the pub’s management claimed Mihir Shah showed them the identity card with the misrepresented age before granting him entry. The report added that three of his friends accompanying him to the pub are over 30 years old.

    The BMW car allegedly driven by the primary accused, Mihir Shah, collided with a two-wheeler from behind in Mumbai’s Worli area on Sunday morning. Tragically, Kaveri Nakhwa (45), who was riding pillion, lost her life in the incident, while her husband Pradeep sustained injuries, according to police reports. Authorities stated that the car dragged Kaveri Nakhwa for approximately 1.5 km before Mihir Shah stopped, switched seats with his driver, and fled the scene in another vehicle. Mihir, who had been evading authorities since the accident, was apprehended on Tuesday. He was remanded to police custody until July 16 following a court hearing on Wednesday.

    The police Mihir has told the them he was driving the BMW car at the time of the crash. After crashing into the couple’s scooter in the early hours of Sunday, Shah was very much aware that the woman was stuck in one of the tyres of the luxury car, but still he drove recklessly and did not stop though motorists passing by frantically signalled and shouted, asking him to halt, an official said on Wednesday.
