A woman aged 60 lost her life in a tiger attack in the Bramhapuri forest of Maharashtra’s Chandrapur district on November 1. The unfortunate incident took place in Halda village, which is within the South Forest Range of the Bramhapuri Forest Division during the afternoon, according to officials.
The deceased was identified as Savitribai Kamble, a senior forest department official said.

“The elderly woman had gone to her farm when a tiger lurking in the bushes attacked her, killing her on the spot. The feline dragged her body for about 100 metres,” he said.
When individuals laboring on a neighboring farm raised an alarm, the tiger quickly fled the area, abandoning the woman’s body. Following this, the deceased woman’s remains were transported to a rural hospital in Bramhapuri for a post-mortem examination.
