Man Injured After Gym Trainer Strikes Him on Head with Wooden Club

A 20-year-old man was injured when a gym trainer struck him with a Mudgal (a wooden club used in akharas for exercise) in Mumbai. The trainer alleged that the victim was glaring at him with anger.

In CCTV footage of the incident, Yogesh Shinde, 20, was exercising at the gym in Mulund East when the trainer, Dharavi Nakel, picked up the wooden club and smashed him on his head. Shinde was seen holding his head in pain.

The accused was identified as Dhawal while the victim was Vilas Shinde. Mumbai Police registered a complaint and arrested the accused. The CCTV video shows the trainer allegedly attacked Shinde in the presence of several other members and trainers. The exact cause of the alleged attack remains unknown.

The other people present at the gym confronted Nakel about his act as seen on the CCTV.

The victim was rushed to a hospital and is currently stable, but he suffered a minor fracture, according to a police complaint.

Shinde has been a member of the gym for the past two years.

He filed a complaint against Nakel, who was subsequently arrested on charges of assault and causing grievous hurt.
