    Platform Ticket Sales at Nagpur Railway Station Restricted Until November 8

    In response to the tragic incident at Bandra Station, the Central Railway has implemented restrictions on the sale of platform tickets at key stations, including Nagpur, to manage crowd levels and prevent a recurrence of the stampede that took place in Mumbai. These measures will remain in effect until November 8.

    Nagpur: Temporary Platform Ticket Restrictions for Festive Season to Manage Crowds

    A notification was issued promptly on Sunday itself saying the temporary measure is being taken during the festive season. The aim on part of railway officials is to allow only that much crowd on the platform that they can manage. During the festive season, maximum people want to head home, come what may. Also relatives and friends come to stations to see off those leaving for outstation.

    Such a situation leads to overcrowding on platforms and to ensure smooth passenger movement within station premises, the restriction of sale of platform tickets is effective Immediately until November 8. Senior citizens and those with medical needs are exempted from these restrictions to ensure ease of travel. Passengers are requested to plan accordingly and adhere to the new regulations for a smooth and safe travel experience during the festive period.

    Stampede at Bandra Terminus Injures Nine Passengers Due to Overcrowding

    In a stampede incident early on Sunday morning at Bandra Terminus, nine passengers were injured following overcrowding on Platform No. 1. The stampede occurred around 2:55 a.m. as passengers waited for Train No. 22921, Bandra-Gorakhpur Express, which was scheduled to depart at 5:10 a.m.

    Nine injured passengers were taken to a hospital, with two reported in critical condition and the other seven in stable condition.
