    The Agra police on Wednesday arrested three Kashmiri students for allegedly celebrating Pakistan’s victory over India in the T20 World Cup match held on October 24 and publishing anti-India messages on social platforms.

    That students identified as Inayat Altaf Shaikh, Shaukat Ahmed Gani and Arshid Yousuf, said Vikas Kumar, Agra SP.

     All the students are studying at RBS College Bichpuri.

    The students have been arrested under Section 153 (A), and 505. Further investigation is underway.

    They have been charged with promoting enmity between groups on grounds of religion, and cyber-terrorism. They may also face sedition charges, indicated a tweet from the Chief Minister’s office. 

     Anti-national remarks were made :

    “The incident came to light that after the match, anti-national remarks were made. We received a complaint, and an FIR was lodged.

    They were arrested after a probe,” Vikas Kumar, Superintendent of Police, Agra City told news agency ANI.

    Activists led by Gaurav Rajawat of the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM), BJP’s youth wing, had reached the college campus in Bichpuri on hearing that slogans supporting Pakistan were allegedly being raised in the college. 

    They reportedly raised slogans against Pakistan and accused the college of “sheltering traitors”.
