Child Remains in Critical Condition: KIMS Secunderabad Update
The child remains in critical condition, according to an update from KIMS Secunderabad, where he is receiving treatment. The hospital’s statement on December 6, 2024, revealed that the boy continues to be in a critical state.
He was initially admitted with low oxygen levels and irregular breathing, which required immediate intubation and ventilation. An MRI of his brain showed signs of perinatal insult, but no new hypoxic changes, while a CT scan of his chest indicated aspiration-related issues.
The hospital noted that the child is on a mechanical ventilator with minimal settings and minimal ionotropic support, showing neurological improvement and no clinical seizures. However, he continues to experience fever spikes, requiring stronger antibiotics. The child has started tolerating NG feeds and is producing adequate urine, showing some signs of hope. Despite these improvements, his condition remains critical, and he is under intensive care and close monitoring as the medical team works to stabilize him further.
