    The Indian consulate in New York has officially verified the sorrowful update regarding the demise of Mohammed Abdul Arfath, a 25-year-old student hailing from Hyderabad. Arfath, who had embark on a Master’s degree journey at Cleveland State University in 2023, has been discover dead in Ohio.

    The embassy convey their heartfelt grief through the statement: “We are deeply sadden to hear the news of Mr. Mohammed Abdul Arfath’s passing. Our thoughts and sympathies go out to the family of Mr. Mohammed Arfath during this difficult time.

    Father of Mohammed Abdul Arfath Reveals Last Contact

    Mohammed Saleem, Arfath’s father, reported that their last conversation occurred on March 7, after which Arfath’s cellphone became inactive. Subsequently, on March 19, Mr. Saleem was contacted by an unidentified individual who claimed that Arfath had been abducted by a drug-trafficking gang and requested a payment of $1,200.

    “I got a call from an unknown number, and the caller inform me that my son had been kidnap and demand money. The caller did not mention the mode of payment. When I asked the caller to let us talk to my son, he refused,” Mr Saleem told news agency PTI.

    Series of Tragic Deaths Shock Indian Student Community in the US

    Several Indian and Indian-origin students have died in the US this year. The back-to-back deaths have left Indian students in the US and their families in India shocked and worried. Of the students who have died, 25-year-old Vivek Saini was hammer to death by a homeless drug addict and 27-year-old Venkataramana Pittala died in a watercraft accident. The cause of death of several students is yet to be confirm.
