Security forces recovered arms, ammunition, and war-like stores in North Kashmir’s Bandipora, arresting two suspects, the army said on Thursday. The seized materials pose a potential threat, and further investigation is underway by the police.

Arms, ammunition, and other war-like stores recovered in Bandipora
Based on specific intelligence, the Indian Army, Jammu and Kashmir Police, and CRPF launched a joint search operation on March 12 in the Gandbal-Hajin Road area of Bandipora. During the operation, two suspected individuals were apprehended, and security forces recovered a pistol, a pistol magazine, two hand grenades, an AK magazine, ammunition, and other war-like stores.
The Chinar Corps confirmed the operation in an X post, stating that the suspects were caught along with the seized items. Further investigation is currently underway by the police to determine any potential links and threats.

Soldier wounded in firing incident
A soldier sustained injuries in a cross-border firing incident along the Line of Control (LoC) in Rajouri’s Nowshera sector on Wednesday morning, sources said. Manning a forward post in the Kalsiyan area, he came under a suspected sniper attack from across the border. Security personnel provided first aid before evacuating him to a military hospital in Udhampur for advanced treatment.
An explosion was also reported near the zero line around 6 am, followed by three rounds of gunfire. However, there were no immediate reports of casualties from the blast. Officials stated that the cause of both the firing and the explosion is currently under investigation.
