In a major development, after Kamya Mishra, known as Bihar’s “Lady Singham,” resigned from the Indian Police Service (IPS), Bihar’s very own “Singham,” Shivdeep Vamanrao Lande, has also announced his resignation. There had been rumors about his dissatisfaction with being transferred from a prominent region like Tirhut to Purnia. And now, just two weeks later, his resignation has come to light. During a conversation with journalists at the IG office, Lande confirmed the news, stating that his decision to resign was due to personal reasons.

On Thursday afternoon, Lande shared the news on social media, causing a sensation in the police department. Along with a picture of himself saluting the national flag in uniform, he wrote, “My dear Bihar, after serving in government positions for 18 years, I have resigned from my post today. In all these years, I have placed Bihar above myself and even my family. If I made any mistakes during my service, I apologize for them. While I have resigned from the Indian Police Service (IPS), I will continue to live in Bihar, as it will always remain my workland.”

A Prominent Figure with a Massive Following in Bihar

Shivdeep Lande, originally from Maharashtra, has always been a celebrated figure in Bihar. He had previously returned to his home state but was later posted back in Bihar at various locations. His decision to stay in Bihar despite resigning has sparked speculation about his future. Lande has a massive fan following across the state, from Patna to Muzaffarpur, and other districts. If he decides to enter politics, especially with any party, his popularity, particularly among the youth, could be a significant asset. Even before his resignation is officially accepted, several political parties have started signaling their interest in associating with him.

Just a few days ago, IPS officer Kamya Mishra resigned due to personal reasons. Now, with Shivdeep Lande stepping down after 18 years of service, the Bihar Police Department is in a state of shock.
