On Friday, BookMyShow filed a complaint at the Vile Parle Police Station in Mumbai, alleging that an unidentified person was involved in black marketing tickets for Coldplay’s highly anticipated January 2025 concert at DY Patil Stadium, Navi Mumbai.

The case has been registered under Section 66(C) of the Information Technology (IT) Act and relevant sections of the Bombay (BNS) Act, with a police investigation currently underway.

In its complaint, BookMyShow revealed that the sale of tickets began on September 22, with a clear warning to customers against purchasing tickets from third-party sellers. Despite this, the company received emails from two individuals requesting the maximum number of tickets, indicating that they had promised tickets to others and had already collected money for them.

Additionally, several WhatsApp messages from other individuals made similar ticket requests, though these were ignored by BookMyShow. The platform’s timely action has now sparked a formal investigation to crack down on the black market sale of tickets for the highly anticipated Coldplay concert.
