Police reported that six children lost their lives and 15 others sustained injuries when a school bus, transporting 30 children, flipped over in Mahendergarh, Haryana, on Thursday morning.
Authorities stated that the school bus, affiliate with GL Public School in Kanina, was involve in a collision near Unhani village in Mahendergarh district when the driver attempted to pass another vehicle. Despite it being a holiday for Eid-ul-Fitr, the school was still in operation.

School Bus in Mahendergarh Accident Had Expired Fitness Certificate, Says Police
The bus which belonged to GL Public School overturned near Unhani village of Kanina. According to the District Education Officer, preliminary inquiries show that the bus driver was intoxicate when he purposefully crashed the vehicle into a tree. Locals reached the spot immediately after the accident and started the rescue operation. Police investigation into the accident is currently underway.
“The injured students were rush to various hospitals in Mahendergarh and Narnaul. The official documents show that the bus’s fitness certificate had expired six years ago in 2018,” said a senior police official. Eyewitnesses said that the bus driver was drunk.
Haryana Education Minister Probes School Bus Accident, Visits Injured Students
Haryana education minister Seema Trikha said she had spoken to the deputy commissioner and Mahendergarh superintendent of police to visit the hospital where the students are undergoing treatment and begin an investigation into the matter
