    CBI director appeals for international cooperation to fight crime

    59 officers from 44 nations attended the Interpol Young Global Police Leaders Program’s concluding session in Mumbai, where Jaiswal emphasised the need of instilling in young leaders the virtues of leadership with a broader global perspective.

    Subodh Jaiswal, director of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), on Thursday emphasised the “imperative need” for expanded police agency collaboration on a worldwide scale.

    “Faced with increasing transnational and complex crimes, the partnerships across jurisdiction and disciplines shall become a crucial tool for policing,” a CBI spokesperson quoting Jaiswal as saying.

    According to CBI, the importance of international cooperation and the role of Interpol as its proponent and global network building will become important.
