    Indian Army Day

    Every year on January 15th, India commemorates Army Day to honor the valiant soldiers and the supreme sacrifice they make to protect the nation’s sovereignty and integrity. Established in recognition of Field Marshal K. M. Cariappa taking over as the first Indian Commander-in-Chief of the Indian Army in 1949, Army Day is a time to pay homage to the bravery, discipline, and dedication of the Indian armed forces.
