Chittoor: Bus-Lorry Collision Leaves Several Injured, Bus Overturns

In a tragic road accident on Thursday night, four passengers lost their lives, and 15 others were injured after a bus collided with a dumper truck in Gajulapalli village, Chittoor district, Andhra Pradesh, a police official confirmed.

The accident occurred at around 11:15 PM when the truck struck the side of a Madurai-bound bus carrying 26 passengers from Tirupati. “Four passengers died on the spot, while 15 others sustained injuries. Among them, four are critically injured, and 11 have minor injuries,” said Chittoor Sub-Divisional Police Officer T. Sainath.

Emergency responders rushed the injured to CMC Vellore, SVIMS, and nearby local hospitals for treatment. The police have registered a case under Section 106 of the BNS Act and are investigating the matter. Meanwhile, the truck driver fled the scene and is currently absconding.

Authorities are now working to identify the deceased and notify their families. The incident has highlighted ongoing concerns about road safety in the region, prompting calls for stricter measures to prevent such accidents.
