Defence Minister Rajnath Singh will give a statement in Rajya Sabha today on the ongoing dispute between India and China at the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in Ladakh.
The Defence Minister will give information on the current situation at the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in Ladakh. Meanwhile, China’s Defence Ministry has claimed that the forces of both countries are retreating from the northern and southern banks of the Pangong Tso.
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh will make a statement in the Rajya Sabha at 10.30 am today about the current situation in eastern Ladakh.
“Raksha Mantri Shri @rajnathsingh will make a statement in Rajya Sabha tomorrow regarding ‘Present Situation in Eastern Ladakh,” the Defence Minister’s Office said in a tweet on Wednesday evening.
Rajnath Singh’s statement comes in the midst of ongoing talks to end the standoff between Indian and Chinese troops in eastern Ladakh. The schedule of the retreat was discussed in the ninth military-level talks between the two armies on January 24.
“The Chinese and Indian frontline troops at the southern and northern bank of the Pangong Tso Lake started synchronized and organized disengagement from 10 February,” China’s defense ministry spokesman senior colonel Wu Qian said in a statement in Beijing.
