    Right to claim a refund

    The right to claim a refund is governed by consumer protection laws. Consumers have the legal right to seek refunds for faulty or unsatisfactory products/services under these laws. This varies by country, but in India, it is covered under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019.

    Right of parents to be maintained by their children

    The legal responsibility of children to provide maintenance and support to their parents is covered under the Maintenance and Welfare of Parents and Senior Citizens Act, 2007 in India.     The right to free legal aid, often referred to as “right to legal representation” or “right to counsel,” ensures that individuals who cannot afford an attorney are provided with legal assistance at no cost. Also, this right is essential to uphold fairness and ensure that everyone has equal access to justice.

    Right to Information

    The “Right to Information” (RTI) is a legal framework that grants individuals the right to access information held by public bodies and government agencies. The RTI law promotes transparency, accountability, and democratic governance. Also, it is by allowing citizens to request and receive information about government actions, decisions, and policies.

    Right against check bounce

    The right against check bounce, also known as dishonor of a check, refers to the legal remedies available to a payee (the person receiving the check) when a check issued to them is not honored by the bank due to insufficient funds, a mismatch of signatures, or any other reason. Also, it is a legal offense in many jurisdictions and can have civil and criminal implications.
