Court Upholds District Judge’s Decision Regarding Gyanvapi Mosque Premises
Justice Agarwal stated that upon reviewing all the case records and considering the arguments presented by the involved parties, the court found no reason to intervene in the district judge’s decision dated January 17, 2024, appointing the District Magistrate of Varanasi as the receiver of the property, as well as the order issued on January 31, 2024, by the district court allowing Puja (worship) in the Tehkhana.
Verdict hailed as a Victory for Sanatana Dharma
Advocate Prabhash praised the verdict, stating that it represents a significant triumph for Sanatana Dharma. He highlighted that the judge rejected the appeals filed by the Muslim side against the District Judge’s order, ensuring that the puja would persist unchanged. Additionally, he noted that the District Magistrate would remain the Receiver of the ‘Tehkhana.’ Prabhash mentioned the possibility for the Muslim side to seek a review of the decision, while emphasizing that the puja would continue uninterrupted.
