Shiv Sena MLA Aaditya Thackeray expressed concerns over the death of Akshay Shinde, the prime accused in the Badlapur rape case, who was shot dead while in police custody. Speaking at the India Today Conclave in Mumbai, Thackeray questioned if “a Shinde was killed to shield an Apte.” He highlighted the numerous unanswered questions surrounding the encounter, in which Shinde was reportedly shot in retaliatory fire after allegedly firing at the police.

Aaditya Thackeray highlighted that the Uddhav-led Shiv Sena government was one of the best Maharashtra had experienced, delivering inclusive governance across the state. “If you visit the rural areas, you’ll witness how effectively we governed,” he remarked. He also affirmed the unity within the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) alliance, stating they are committed to fighting for Maharashtra’s pride and safeguarding the state. However, Thackeray acknowledged that determining the Chief Minister if the alliance wins the elections remains a challenging task, but one that the alliance will handle.

Aaditya Thackeray Challenges Eknath Shinde
In a direct challenge to the current Maharashtra Chief Minister, Thackeray labelled Eknath Shinde an “illegal CM,” questioning his legitimacy and daring him to name the Chief Minister face. “If Shinde answer who will represent their side, we will answer ours,” he stated, hinting at deeper discord within the opposition. Thackeray further called for a face-to-face debate with Shinde, claiming, “I know him well, and I’m ready.” The statement not only highlights the ongoing power struggle but also sets the stage for a heated political showdown in Maharashtra.
