Renowned ex-champion John Cena is gearing up for his WWE comeback in the upcoming month, as affirmed by the wrestling organization on Monday. Cena is poised to reenter the wrestling arena during the inaugural episode of next month’s SmackDown, slated for September 1 at The Giant Center in Hershey, Pennsylvania. Additionally, he will be part of the WWE Superstar Spectacle, a live event set to occur in India on September 8.

John Cena’s WWE Comeback: A September Return After Surprise Money in the Bank Appearance

In September, John Cena will make his return to WWE. It will be marking his initial involvement in a WWE event. It is since his unexpected appearance at Money in the Bank in July at The O2 Arena. He had also been included in the WrestleMania lineup earlier this year, during April. During WrestleMania 39, Cena competed for the United States Championship against Austin Theory. Unfortunately, he suffered a loss in that match.

John Cena has been the face of WWE for a long time but he has not been fighting for the wrestling promotion regularly in recent years. Last year, Cena competed in WWE just once.

During a recent discussion about his WWE journey, Cena openly expressed his nostalgia for being a part of the wrestling promotion. He admitted, “I truly wish I could still be there every single day. Unfortunately, my body isn’t capable of that anymore, and I’m dedicated to not providing fans with subpar entertainment.” Reflecting on the lessons he learned from veterans like Eddie Guerrero, he shared. “People like Eddie never compromised on delivering quality to the audience. Regardless of personal physical or mental challenges, he believed in giving his absolute best because the fans invested in us. Even if I have to dig deep to find that energy, I’m committed to going out there and giving my all.” This revelation came during a conversation with Busted Open Radio, where the 46-year-old wrestling icon opened up about his feelings.
