    Trinamool Congress (TMC) chief Mamta Banerjee has received a major setback from the Election Commission amid the West Bengal Election 2021 elections.

    The Election Commission has given a statement saying, “It is sad that unfounded allegations have been made in the media on behalf of Mamata Banerjee. There was an attempt by the Chief Minister to mislead the voters. This is a deliberate act.”

    The Election Commission also said that “no evidence has been found in the investigation to prove that the security forces deployed there tried to dissuade voters from voting. Or behaved in a manner that was not acceptable”.
