Prime Minister Narendra Modi abruptly ended his official visit to Saudi Arabia after terrorists attacked Indian security forces in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir. The attack injured several soldiers, prompting Modi to immediately convene a high-level emergency meeting. After assessing the situation, he decided to return to India without completing his diplomatic engagements.
Modi condemned the attack strongly and assured the nation that India would respond with strength. The Prime Minister also directed National Security Advisor Ajit Doval to monitor the situation closely and coordinate with local security agencies.

US, Saudi Arabia Stand with India Against Terror
As news of the attack spread, international support poured in. The United States and Saudi Arabia both condemned the terrorist act and expressed solidarity with India. The US State Department issued a statement assuring India of continued cooperation in the fight against terrorism. Meanwhile, the Saudi Foreign Ministry expressed sorrow over the incident and backed India’s right to defend itself.

Before departing, PM Modi spoke directly with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. During the conversation, the Crown Prince expressed concern over the attack and pledged support to India in its efforts to combat terrorism.
Back home, Indian security agencies launched a massive search operation in the Pahalgam region. Officials began an intensive manhunt for the terrorists responsible for the attack. The government also ordered a full-scale investigation and heightened security across sensitive zones in Jammu and Kashmir.
