Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Tesla CEO Elon Musk recently held a conversation to explore potential collaboration between India and Musk-led ventures in key futuristic sectors including technology, space exploration, and artificial intelligence. This dialogue comes as a continuation of the discussions initiated during Prime Minister Modi’s official visit to the United States earlier this year.

Taking to social media platform X (formerly known as Twitter) on Friday, PM Modi said, “Spoke to Elon Musk and talked about various issues, including the topics we covered during our meeting in Washington DC earlier this year.” The conversation reflects both leaders’ shared vision of leveraging innovation to drive progress and create impactful global partnerships.

Talks held on future collaboration in technology and innovation

During Modi’s U.S. visit in June, he had met Musk in Washington, where the two engaged in a wide-ranging discussion about India’s growing technological ecosystem, sustainable energy initiatives, and the potential for Tesla and SpaceX to contribute to India’s development goals. Musk had praised India’s economic potential and expressed his admiration for PM Modi’s leadership.

In the recent interaction, the focus remained on mutual interests such as expanding India’s digital infrastructure, promoting electric mobility, and exploring new avenues in space research and AI-driven solutions. With India pushing forward with initiatives like ‘Digital India’, ‘Make in India’, and the expansion of its space missions under ISRO, the possibility of collaboration with Musk’s companies like Tesla, SpaceX, and xAI becomes even more significant.

The conversation also comes amid growing global interest in India as a hub for high-tech manufacturing and AI innovation. Tesla has been in talks about entering the Indian EV market, and there have been ongoing discussions about setting up manufacturing plants in the country. Meanwhile, India’s space agency ISRO continues to make international headlines with its ambitious and cost-effective missions.

The renewed dialogue signals a commitment to strengthening ties between India and the global tech community. As both leaders continue to emphasize innovation and sustainability, the prospects for future partnerships look promising.
