Karnataka home minister G Parameshwara said Prajwal would be arrestd as soon as he arrived at the airport in Bengaluru.

Prajwal to Return Amid Sexual Assault Probe

Prajwal departed the country shortly after the second phase of the election on April 26, which included voting in his constituency of Hassan. He anticipated the controversy that ensued when multiple videos emerged showing the MP sexually assaulting women. The Karnataka government established a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to probe the allegations and requested the Centre to revoke Prajwal’s diplomatic passport.

A month after his disappearance, Prajwal released a video on Monday stating that he would participate in the investigation and appear before the SIT on Friday, May 21 at 10 a.m. “I have faith in the judiciary and am confident that the court will clear me of these false charges,” Prajwal said.

Reports indicate that Prajwal has booked a return flight from Munich to Bengaluru on May 30 and is expectd to arrive in Bengaluru around midnight.

Deve Gowda Urges Prajwal to Return and Face Legal Process Amid Scandal

Amid significant political turmoil in Karnataka due to the sex scandal, which included his father’s arrest and his suspension from the party, the Ministry of External Affairs responded to the state government’s request by issuing a show cause notice to Prajwal regarding the potential cancellation of his diplomatic passport.

Prajwal’s grandfather, former Prime Minister HD Deve Gowda, issued a stern warning, urging him to return to India and face the investigation into the abuse allegations. “At this point, all I can do is firmly instruct Prajwal to come back from wherever he is and surrender to the police. He must undergo the legal process,” Deve Gowda stated.
