Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address the nation at 4 pm on Tuesday. The address comes a day after the Ministry of Home Affairs announced guidelines for Unlock 2.0 – the second phase of Center lockdown exit plan. Not many changes compared to the Unlock 1.0, and night curfew timings which have been changed to 10 pm-5 am now.
The prime minister’s address also comes after the violent face-off between the Indian and Chinese soldiers at Galwan valley, which led to martyrdom of 20 Indian soldiers.
There have been calls for boycotting Chinese products in the wake of the Ladakh incident.The prime minister also made a vigorous push for the use of locally made products, saying being “vocal for local” is also a way to strengthen the country and to serve it. On Monday, the government banned 59 mobile apps, most of them Chinese, saying that they are engaged in “activities which are prejudicial to sovereignty and integrity of India, defence of India, security of state and public order.”
