A disturbing video showing a railway worker throwing trash onto the tracks from a moving train has gone viral, sparking online outrage. The footage was reportedly filmed on the Subedarganj-Lokmanya Tilak Special Fare SF Special, a broad gauge train operating on Thursdays between Subedarganj (SFG) and Lokmanya Tilak Terminus (LTT) in Mumbai.

Railway Worker Fired After Viral Trash Dumping Video
The viral video on social media features a voice in the background questioning the railway worker about his actions, yet he continues to discard trash despite the warning. The video, posted on Instagram with the caption, “A senior official throws garbage from a moving train despite warnings. Hard to even imagine,” has gained widespread attention. As the video went viral, Railway Seva responded on X, confirming that the employee involved has been fired. The post stated, “Thank you for the information. Upon receiving the complaint, the railways took immediate action. The OBHS staff member, Kanchan Lal, working on special train 04115, has been dismissed. Additionally, a heavy penalty has been imposed on the OBHS contractor. Indian Railways is committed to serving the nation 24/7.”
The official X account of the Ministry of Railways announced that the staff member was dismissed on February 27, the day the incident took place. Social media users inundated the comments section with criticism, denouncing the blatant disregard for cleanliness and environmental responsibility. One user remarked, “Civic sense should be taught in all schools, regardless of background.”
Another user commented, “After politicians, it’s the employees who have ruined the country… The government job system needs to be abolished.” Many others praised IRCTC for its quick response, with one user writing, “This is the fastest action I’ve ever seen.”
