A 20-year-old Indian student has gone missing while vacationing in the Dominican Republic, and US federal agencies are collaborating with local authorities on the investigation.

Details About Sudiksha Konanki
Sudiksha Konanki is a citizen of India and a permanent resident of the United States. The Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office said Monday that Konanki, a University of Pittsburgh student, was vacationing with five college friends at a resort in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic.

Investigation Efforts and Search Operations
Authorities reported Konanki missing on March 6. The Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office (LCSO) continues to assist US federal agencies and Dominican National Police in determining Konanki’s whereabouts and what happened to her. Authorities reported her missing during a spring break trip in Punta Cana. She was last seen in the early morning of March 6.
“The ongoing investigation includes wide-ranging search efforts, along with a review of surveillance video and telephone records. The LCSO statement said interviews are ongoing with anyone who may have seen or been with Konanki before she went missing. The LCSO filed for INTERPOL to issue a Yellow Notice (worldwide police alert for a missing person).

ABC News reported that three Dominican officials believe Konanki drowned in the ocean, but the LCSO cautioned against drawing unsubstantiated conclusions. The LCSO emphasized their commitment to a thorough investigation and supporting Konanki’s family.

Circumstances Surrounding Konanki’s Disappearance
Two police sources told ABC News that authorities found Konanki’s clothes on a portable beach bed near the spot where she went missing.
The police have found no evidence of violence, according to sources.
ABC News reported that after visiting a nightclub on March 5, Konanki and others went to the beach around 4 am on March 6. The other women returned to their hotel around 5:55 am, as captured by security cameras.
“A man stayed behind with Konanki on the beach,” according to a Dominican Republic investigative police report.
